Onome Onokohwomo popularly called Yung6ix (stage name) is a Nigerian rapper , Nigerian hip hop recording artist born on the 8 of July 1989 . Onome Onokohwomo who is better knwon with the stage name Yung6ix was born and bred  in Warri, Delta State the home of many Nigerian celebrities like Oritse Femi , Bovi , Eriga and many more .
Onokohwomo grew up in Warri and he is the e oldest child in a family of five, and took a strong interest in music at a young age. While he was studying at at FGC Warri, he was always engaging himself in several rap battles and he was able to develop a friendlier relationship with students with similar interest , which led to the formation of the hip hop group G-Squad. The the hip hop group G-Squad began to perform at various talent shows in Delta State and outside the state and they were becoming known .

He has revealed that the very first song he recorded at school was used with his WAEC lesson fee to pay for the instrumentals and each day he treks from school to studio for close to 2 hours or more . Read what he said below ;
“My love for music was so deep and I just kept on going till it got to a level they had to accept me for who I am. Despite the challenges he face when he started doing music he didn’t give up , his passion for music kept him going . He kept on doing music until he was finally accepted by fans . After graduating from high school, Onokohwomo relocated to western Nigeria to pursue a career in music and enrolled at Oduduwa University . Many people are wondering how he got his stage name , he derived his stage name Yung6ix from his high school nickname “6ixty”.

After his secondary educaion , Yung6ix relocated to lagos to continue his music career . He recorded a song titled  “I’m an African”, the song caught the attention of A&R Gbemi Ereku, who signed him to his 411 Entertainment Company in 2009. He broke into the industry fully when he released his cover version of “Oleku” in 2010 and it went viral and it also attracted media attention . After that , he  released “So Far Gone”, featuring P. Fizzy, a single off his Green Light Green mixtape. In January 2011, 6ix released “Plenty Money”, another joint from the mixtape .
In 2011 , Yung6ix collaborated with Wizkid on “Follow Me”, a track from his debut studio album.  In September 2011, Yung6ix released the fourth track from his Green Light Green project, “Oh My Gosh”, which earned him both “Lyricist on the Roll” and “Best Rap Single” nominations at The Headies Awards the following year.

In May 2012, “Picking Things”, the second single from his debut album was released. Naeto C and E. Kelly was featured on this song . In 2012 , Yung6ix released his highly anthicipated album 6ix ‘O Clock.
