He was born Olawale Ashim better known as Brymo , born 9 May 1986 . Brymo is a Nigerian recording artist and composer. The Ambassador for The Lagos Chamber of Commerce And Industry started singing in 1999, while in secondary school. He signed a record deal with Chocolate City in 2010, but breached his contractual agreement with the label in 2013.
Olawale Ashim who performs under the stage name Brymo released his debut studio album, Brymstone, in 2007. His second studio album, TheSonOfaKapenta, was released in 2012. The album had some cool singles like “Ara” and “Good Morning” . After some time he came out with his third studio album, Merchants, Dealers & Slaves,which was released on 20 October 2013. When it came out , it earned positive review from music critics and was accompanied by two singles: “Down” and “Eko”. His fourth studio album on 30 October 2014 and it was titled Tabula Rasa. It front line songs was “Fe Mi”, which was described as a “soft traditional ballad” . The following year that is 2015, Brymo came out with a new album , he released an eight-track compilation album titled Trance and it was released on 8 December 2015 precisely.
THesame year 2015, Brymo signed an international distribution deal with Tate Music Group . And lastly, he released his fifth studio album, Klĭt**ôrĭs, on 9 May 2016 and the album came with 11 tracks including lead single “Happy Memories”.
EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND
When i said Brymo was born on the 9th of May, 1986 but i didn’t reveal his place of birth . He was born in the town of Ojo, Lagos State , his father is a carpenter and he is very proud to say it anywhere anytime even on his songs . Brymo attended Aganju aka primary school okokomaiko, lagos. 1990-1997 He later attended Ajangbadi high school 1997-2003). Olawale better known as Brymo gained admission into Lagos state university in 2007 where he studied zoology.
He composed his first chorus in the year 1999 at the age of 14. In 2012, Brymo teamed up with three other friends and they started a band called ALIENS. Brymo played a very important part as a member of the group, his job being writing and compositions of songs. Within a space of two years , he wrote over 85 songs but unfortunately they broke up in year 2005 as some of the members needed to go back to school .
Brymo started his music career professionally in 2006 when a local promoter projected his career in Okokomaiko, Lagos, signed to Chocolate City. With the help of the local promoter he was signed to Chocolate City. After some time , he signed an International distribution deal with Tate Music Group in 2015 . Needful to add, has also been likened to Aṣa, Fela, Tunji Oyelana, Beautiful Nubia and Fatai Rolling Dollar because majority of his songs are in the Yoruba language , one notable thing about his music is that they contain constant revelation of emotions which is very appealing to the ear.
